Match results, 2021-2022 season

In our first match of the ’21-’22 Potomac High School Rifle League Match on 16 December 2021, the Robinson Rams defeated the West Potomac Wolverines 1131(50x) to 1057(25x). Our top shooters were Grant B 294(20x), Thomas M 293(17x) and Alex M 283 (8x).

On Wednesday, 12 Jan 2022, the Robinson Rams out shot the West Springfield Spartans 1138(55x) to 1124(42x). Our top 3 shooters were Grant B 297(20), Alex M 283(14x), and Thomas M 283(11x). Our next high school league match will be on 26 Jan against our rivals – Woodson High School.

On Saturday 22 Jan, the team won a hard fought match against the Centreville HS Wildcats 1132-53x to 1085-38x. Our top shooters were Grant B 295-24x, Thomas M 286-12x and Alex M 285-11x. First year shooter and last minute fill in Emory B shot his first high school match, as a counter, and fired a very respectable 266-6x to help the team to the win.

On Wednesday 26 Jan, we lost to the WT Woodson Cavaliers 1162-67x to 1143-54x. Our top shooters were Grant B 295-21x, Thomas M 288-12x and Alex M 283-12x.

The team lost to the league leading Lake Braddock Bruins 1175-79x to 1149-54x on Saturday 30 Jan. Our top shooters were Grant B 296-18x, Alex M 287-14x and Thomas M 285-11x.

On Groundhog Day, we were victorious against the Mavericks 1143-58x to 1032-23x bringing our record up to 4 wins and 2 losses on the season. Our top 3 shooters were Grant B 294-24x, Thomas M 290-16x and Alex M 283-12x.

We closed out our Potomac High School Rifle League season with a victory against Yorktown High School 1138- to 1082. The team finishes the match season with 5 wins and 2 losses. Our top 3 shooters today were Grant B 293-19x, Alex M 287-14x, and Will W 285-15x.

On Saturday 12 February we had six athletes selected to compete in the Potomac High School Rifle League (PHSRL) regional match. Congratulations to Grant B, Thomas M, Alex M, Will W, Emory B and Patrick D. Overall in team competition, the Robinson Rifle Team placed fourth of nine teams. Our top three shooters were Grant B 587–37x, Thomas M 577-28x, and Alex M 568–22x. Awards were presented to the PHSRL All Metro Teams, our awardees were Grant B, who was selected to the PHSRL All-Metro First Team, and Thomas M, Alex M, Will W, who were also selected as All-Metro Honorable Mentions.

Second place for the regular PHSRL season!

In the fourth week of the Potomac High School Rifle League (PHSRL) we were soundly defeated by Woodson High School, 1552-89x to 1515-59x.  

On a positive note, we locked ourselves into second place for the season.  Great job, team!

Our top shooters on Saturday were Payton P (385-20x), Grant B (382-18x), and Isaac V (388–24x).

Week Two of the shortened season

We had our second Potomac High School Rifle League (PHSRL) match of the year on Saturday January 16, 2021.  This week, the team improved 18 points and scored a 1536-78X.  Unfortunately our rivals at Woodson High School also improved and scored a 1551-79x.  So far in season aggregate score, we are in second place trailing first place Woodson by 17 points.  Our top shooters were Thomas M (387-20x), Isaac V (385-21x) and Grant B (384-21X).  

We’re back!

We had our first match of the season on Saturday, January 9, 2021.  The team scored a 1518-78X trailing Woodson by 2 points.  As the season score is aggregate, we are very close to the leader.  Our top shooters yesterday were Grant B (387-25X), Payton P (384-22X) and Thomas M (381-18X).  We will continue with the Saturday matches for the next 3 weeks.

ARPC Challenge 2018 Air Rifle Results

Congratulations to Robinson’s shooting athletes for their outstanding performance at 2018 Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club (ARPC) Challenge.

In February 2018, 7 teams and 21 shooters participated in 2 days/3 rounds of matches of the inaugural ARPC Challenge Junior Air Rifle Team Match. 

AJ Gold performed well, in the semifinal, took QA Gold 3-0 and moved to the final round against Damascus. AJ fell to no.1 Damascus 2-1 and came 2nd in the tournament. Damascus is the first ARPC Challenge Champion!

For 3rd place, Robinson Gold defeated QA Gold (3-0), with a shoot off between Michael Donoho (QA Gold) and Jacob Bzdafka (Robinson Gold). Robinson Gold took 3rd place followed by QA Gold in 4th.

Junior Air Rifle National Championship Results

The U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit hosted the Junior Air Rifle National Championships on 1-3 February 2018 in Ft. Benning, GA.

The Robinson Gold team (Stefan Arseneau, Grace Cason, Jack Curry, and Emily Fisher)  placed 18th overall.

Congratulations to Captain Emily Fisher for her 5th place individual score of 1232.9 77x !

Match update: Robinson defeats Lake Braddock

On Saturday, January 6, 2018, the Robinson Rifle team defeated the Lake Braddock Rifle team by the score 1149 to 1142.

Top air rifle shooters for Robinson were Emily Fisher 294-19x, Grace Cason 289-14x, and Stefan Arseneau 285-19x.

Match update: Robinson defeats West Potomac HS

On Wednesday December 13, 2017, the Robinson Rifle team defeated West Potomac by the score 1151 to 1123.

Top air rifle shooters for Robinson were Emily Fisher 297-25x (setting a new team record), Grace Cason 289-18x, and Jacob Bzdafka 287-12x.

Special mention – Jack Kersey who shot 100 from the kneeling position.

Match update: Robinson Defeats Washington-Lee

In our first Air Rifle match of the Potomac High School Rifle League 2017-2018 Winter season, Robinson defeated Washington-Lee with a score of 1140 to 1120 on December 7, 2017.

Our top shooters were Emily Fisher 296-19x (setting a new team record), Stefan Arseneau 288-16x, and Jacob Bzdafka 284-13x.

Also notable was Grace Cason, who shot a perfect 100 (with 10 bullseyes) in prone – the only member of our team to do so.

King George 3P Match Sweep, October 28, 2017

Congratulations to the Robinson Rifle Team in earning first, second, and third place Precision Team awards at the King George Fall 3 Position Air Rifle Tournament on October 28, 2017!

Led by Captains Emily Fisher and David Linkh (who took first and second place individually with 583-41 and 574-28) Robinson athletes captured 6 of the top 8 precision shooter spots.
