Directions to United States Naval Academy, Annapolis

The driving trip to the USNA takes approximately 1.5 hours. Processing through Security at Gate 4 or Gate 8 of the Naval Academy and parking near Bancroft Hall where the range is located will probably take at least 30 minutes. The relay will begin precisely at 2 p.m. Shooters will need at least one hour to check in at the range, register, and set up for the match. Therefore, we should leave home or Robinson 2 1/ 2 HOURS prior to the beginning of the match or relay.

If your vehicle has DoD stickers, you will be admitted to the USNA as at U.S. military facilities in the Washington area. However, those arriving in non-DOD stickered vehicles must have their visit registered with security authorities at the Naval Academy. You may do so by providing the name of the driver, a description of the vehicle, and the vehicles tag number on the attached document. These drivers must have a government issued photo identification document, such as a drivers license. Coach Hardy will provide your data to USNA security officials. DETAILED DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO USNA & FIRING RANGE

• Proceed on Rt 50 (in Maryland) to (RIGHT) EXIT 24a (Rowe Blvd and Navy&Marine Corps Stadium).
• Proceed down Rowe Blvd and turn LEFT on Taylor Ave (Stadium will be on your right - I believe this is the second traffic light).
• Go northeast approx 250 meters. The road will T intersect just past the 7-11 (on your left). TURN RIGHT ONTO RT 450. 450 will make a sharp left. Go past King George St (on right) and in approx 175 meters,
• TURN RIGHT AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT onto Bowyer Rd (get out ID and check w/guard as this is Gate 8).
• Continue on Boyer 'till road T's, Turn right. Go 30 meters and Turn left (USNA Chapel will appear on your right)
• Road T's again, make an immediate left and STOP (you cannot go further) and let out your shooters with their gear.
• Go to Tecumsah Court (look for the Indian masthead, face Bancroft Hall, hold out your right arm at a right oblique and you'll see the stairway down to the range.
